Modeling exercise in blender 2.8 beta. We are migrating from Cinema 4D to Blender. First impressions are very positive. Efficiency, speed, precision.
Just 2 tutorials (blender's Wednesday, compass-excellent exercise!) With Libel Studios I ventured to make this model, even if I did not know Blender in depth. I must admit that beyond achieving an excellent model, I proposed to try as many modeling tools. The exercise is very satisfactory. Also use some Tips, from the excellent series of 3da2 Animation Studios.
Some details: The smoothing differences are appreciated, using modifiers and material smoothing.
The chain - among others - is not proportional, but the challenge was to achieve distribution on a curve, which closed, adapted to the pinions and had a more or less credible cadence.
Render with Cycles.
